HISTORY

The West Hartford Freedom Run was started in 2015 by a group of students from Conard, Hall, and Northwest Catholic High schools to show support for America's wounded service members. All aspects of the event continue to be organized and managed by students, including advertising, registration, supply purchasing, permits, safety, and coordination of event-day activities.

All proceeds from the event benefit Team Red, White and Blue, Inc. Team RWB is a national 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of America's veterans by connecting them to their local communities through physical and social activity. Focus is on three core components - people, health, and purpose - that contribute to life satisfaction and well-being. For more information, visit www.teamrwb.org

The 5K run is a scenic, flat course that begins at West Hartford Town Hall, winds through local neighborhood streets, and ends back at Town Hall.
